Hitachi Seaside Park ひたち海浜公園 is a park 10% larger than the Central Park in New York, and is 270 times the area of Tokyo Dome.
The park is famous for its flowers and red leaves.
In Apr-May each year, it is famous for its Nemophila (Baby Blue Eyes) ネモフィラ (瑠璃唐草) on its Miharashi Hill みはらしの丘.
Unfortunately this year, the flowers were blooming 2 weeks earlier than normal year, so what I saw was not as spectacular as it would be.
The nearest train station is Katsuta station 勝田駅 of JR Jouban Line JR常磐線, JR Mito Line JR水戸線, and Hitachi-naka Seaside Railway ひたちなか海浜鉄道 Minato Line 湊線.
