I bumped into this E5-series Shinkansen in JR Tokyo Station while waiting for Nagano Shinkansen. E5-series Shinkansen started its operation on 05 Mar 2011, and is currently the fastest operating Shinkansen train in Japan, capable of running at 320 km/h. Currently there are only 3 return services per day : 2 between Tokyo and Shin-Aomori, and 1 between Tokyo and Sendai.
